AMRITPEX 2023, the National Philately Exhibition aims to be a platform to introduce a whole new generation about philately and its delightful charms.

With more than 1400 frames and digital exhibits on display in a floor area of 50,000 sq ft, and over 40 booths of philatelic items on sale, the exhibition will highlight India’s history, culture, art, and heritage across the years through stamps and pictorial collections. Also featuring a competitive section, the winners will get an opportunity to participate in various international philatelic exhibitions.

In addition to the 1400 frames and 46 booths, the exhibition will also include digital exhibits and interactive activities for children and the young. To increase footfall and make it more convenient, remote registration for participants and sellers to the exhibition is being planned. An interactive website for the exhibition will also be in place for those digitally equipped.

Not only these, AMRITPEX-2023 offers many more attractions, making it an unmissable event! Some of the attractions are the Wall of Philately, Mascot – VR Rooms, and Digital Charkha. Digital Kiosks – digital postcard, quiz and design are also a highlight. There will be giveaways for children visiting the exhibitions. Other highlights include release videos for stamps and special covers, Drone Activities, Selfie Points, Live Painting by Artists and Painters, Special Covers with VR, Curated and Guided Tours, Magnifying Glasses to magnify small stamps, Philately Movies on Digital Screen, and Time Capsule.

The art of collecting stamps, philately, is more than a hobby. Philately increased our knowledge of history, culture, art and nature and is a lifestyle choice that can help us connect and ground ourselves.

In modern times, when Internet and mobile phones took over our lives, for a brief period, philately found itself relegated to a quaint hobby. However, it is through this very Internet, philately is once again gaining traction. Online philatelic marketplaces have come up across India and across the world. In addition, access to many media, has made it much easier for collectors to participate enthusiastically once again.

On its part to keep alive this enriching hobby, India Post has an exclusive Philately Promotion Programme. Through this programme, India Post has been organizing philatelic exhibitions at different levels – state, national and international. The objective is to educate the public, children and youth in particular, about the culture, heritage, history, and famous personalities of India and to encourage philately as a hobby.

Remembering Bhagat Singh

Remembering Bhagat Singh

Bhagat Singh (28 September 1907 – 23 March 1931) was an Indian socialist revolutionary whose two acts of dramatic violence against the British in India and execution at age 23 made him a folk hero of the Indian independence movement.
